"Daddy, will you put on your fwimmy fwuit and come fwimming with me?" "No, Daddy has stuff to do." "Awww. Will you please take me fwimming in the pool?" "Dana, come get Aubree's swimsuit on, please."
Isn't it sweet to see how a 27 pound girl can have such power over a 190 pound man? It was really alot of fun for Aubree, riding on her Daddy's back while she "kick, kick, kicked" around the pool, pretending to swim. She played and splashed with all the big kids without a care in the world. She would climb up onto the ladder and jump into her Daddy's outstreched arms, frightening as it was, she knew he wouldn't let her drown. She knew that her Daddy would protect her from the scary underwater world that she's not yet brave enough, or experienced enough to explore.
You know, our "Daddy" (God) holds us close to Him too, protecting us from the scary unknown, uncharted territories that we have yet to venture into. We can always count on Him to save us from drowning when we cannot swim. We just have to trust Him to catch us, even though we are afraid to close our eyes and just jump.
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do , and He will direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
